As the Laona/Wabeno boys basketball team kicked of their season with a tough loss against the Antigo Red Robins (Division 2) on Tuesday night, but they bounced back and defeated the Suring Eagles on Thursday.
Following the win against the Eagles, The Rebels came back the next day for their first conference game against The White Lake Lakers. The Rebels won 85-21. Jumping out to a 49-9 first half lead, The Rebels had command of the game early in the game and never looked back.
The Rebels offense produced balanced scoring all night. All players on the roster placed points on the board, with three members scoring in double figures. Cooper Chrisman led all scorers with 23 points; Chris Schewe scored over half the points for the Lakers with 12 points.
